The CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 Exam 2026 — also called the Second Board Exam or Improvement Exam — is a landmark change introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education. On June 25, 2025, CBSE officially announced a two-phase board examination system for Class 10, giving students a structured second opportunity to improve their performance without repeating an entire academic year.
Phase 1 exams were conducted from February 17 to March 11, 2026, and results were announced on April 15, 2026. Students who are not satisfied with their Phase 1 scores can now appear for Phase 2, scheduled from May 15 to June 1, 2026. CBSE will consider the best score out of Phase 1 and Phase 2 for the final marksheet — a truly student-friendly policy.
The complete CBSE 10th Phase 2 date sheet 2026 has been released on the official website cbse.gov.in. All exams are held in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The schedule covers improvement exams as well as compartment exams across all major subjects.
